Read Time:3 Minute, 36 Second

Despite facing numerous challenges in the making of the upcoming movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Marvel Studios persevered through some crazy situations during the production.

Similar to other projects within the Multiverse Saga, Ant-Man 3 encountered several obstacles during its filming, particularly due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which was at its peak when the team was shooting.

Despite this, lead actors Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly, along with the rest of the team, worked tirelessly over the past year to complete the necessary tasks required for filming, even conducting reshoots a month prior to its release.

Lilly spoke about her experience shooting during the lockdown, revealing how challenging it was to work in a bubble. However, the actress praised Ant-Man 3, declaring it the best movie in the trilogy, especially after overcoming all the difficulties that arose during its production.

Paul Rudd Discusses Unique Situation Involving Manure in Ant-Man 3

In a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, actor Paul Rudd shared an interesting anecdote about the making of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

While filming scenes for the Quantum Realm, Rudd and his castmates faced an unexpected delay due to a unique situation on the set.

He recalled shooting for a few days when he noticed the strong smell of dirt permeating the air, and later discovered that the “dirt” was actually manure.

As a result, the entire set had to be shut down for a day to replace the surface on which the actors were walking.

Despite this strange setback, Rudd remained lighthearted about the situation, joking with Fallon about the unpleasant smell and the need to find a new way to navigate through the scene.

The incident highlights some of the unexpected challenges that can arise during the making of a movie and the need for flexibility and adaptability in the face of unusual circumstances.

“They have like, dirt, and they try and have as much practical stuff as possible. You really feel like you’re on a planet or you’re in some weird space. One of the things, we went in and there was dirt all over the floor, and we were shooting with 150 other creatures and people, and it doesn’t smell good at all. And throughout the day, it was kind of getting worse and worse, and the next day, it was overbearing, and we realize they probably got a deal on the dirt because it wasn’t dirt, it was manure. They actually kind of had to shut it down for a day and then bring in some new dirt. I don’t think anyone knew. The Quantum Realm just reeks!”

In addition to his appearance on The Tonight Show, Rudd also spoke with Yahoo about the manure incident, emphasizing the team’s commitment to practical effects and the use of The Volume technology for the Quantum Realm scenes.

Despite the setback caused by the manure, Rudd remained upbeat and made light of the situation, joking that if the quality of the movie was anything like the substance they were walking on, they were in trouble.

The incident highlights the challenges and unexpected setbacks that can arise during the filmmaking process, but also the importance of remaining flexible and adaptable in the face of such situations.
