Some new art shows that the romance from Thor: Love and Thunder, played by India Hemsworth, would have been very different when it started in the MCU.
When the film was first announced in 2019, it may not have been thought that the title refers to Christan Bale’s reincarnated daughter Gorr the God Butcher, courtesy of Eternal. Animation is the first creation of the MCU because there is nothing like it in the movies.
Although many have problems with Thor: Love and Thunder, the inclusion of this unique character is part of his creative decision. It also paves the way for a different version of Thor, who is now a father (something Chris Hemsworth would love). However, it seems that love may come to the screen looking very different.
Thor’s daughter’s love can be very different
Andy Park, Director of Visual Development and Artist at Marvel Studios, has revealed new artwork of India Hemsworth’s Love from Thor: Love and Thunder on Instagram.
In this movie, the romantic character is seen as a child looking at someone, with Gorr’s facial markings on his body. The newly released art sees something very different in character.
The two most noticeable changes are his long braided hair which is light blue and his pale skin, almost like his father’s.
Comparing the two side by side, while the clothes are similar, the people themselves give off different vibes. The concept art shows that there is confidence in the slightly older version, while the final version is older and a bit clean. However, they both share the sign of smirking.
Along with the new image, Park said he wanted to explore “the look that spoke to [Love’s] character.”
“Spreading lots of LOVE on this day! I loved coming up with the oncept design of Gorr by fellow Vis Dev artist [John Staub]… I explored coming up with a look that spoke to her spunky personality. This design I did was before I was told that she would be cast by Chris Hemsworth’s actual daughter, which I thoguht would be perfect.”
